This entry is based on the ancient Chinese Taoist belief that Yin cannot exist without Yang and vice versa. My dad used to tell me the legend and the history of yinyang (阴阳 and the correlation with 八卦(Ba Gua)the symbols around the yin yang also found on the Korean flag.
I purposely inversed the hair colors to emphasize contrast but unity at the same time.
Here are the Symbols in clockwise order from the very top and their meanings:
離Li 火 Fire Means: Rapid movement, radiance, the sun.
坤Kun 地 Earth Means: Receptive energy, that which yields.
兌Dui 澤 Lake Means: Joy, satisfaction, stagnation.
乾Qian 天 Heaven Means: Expansive energy, the sky.
坎Kan 水 Water Means: Danger, rapid rivers, the abyss, the moon.
巽Xun 風 Wind Means: Gentle penetration, flexibility. _________________________________________________ I hope this was enlightening! The diagram shows that the elements and meanings are all co-related and that there can be no good with evil and no evil without good. Chinese people really do think about the meaning of life and i guess this has impacted me to believe in yin and yang. Texture by ~MorlothStock
